OVA Retreat Code of Conduct
At OVA Retreat, we are committed to creating a safe, nourishing, and respectful environment for everyone. The following guidelines are designed to foster a sense of community, mutual understanding, and personal accountability during the retreat:
1. Respect for Diversity
We celebrate the uniqueness of every participant, regardless of their background, beliefs, or experiences. Discrimination, judgment, or disrespectful behavior towards others is not tolerated.
2. Confidentiality and Privacy
The retreat is a space for sharing and self-discovery. What is shared within the group stays within the group. Respect the confidentiality of personal stories and experiences shared by others.
3. Mindful Communication
Engage in active listening and speak mindfully. Avoid interrupting, offering unsolicited advice, or engaging in gossip. Allow others the space to express themselves authentically.
4. Respect for Boundaries
Honor your own boundaries and those of others. Participation in activities is encouraged but always optional. No one should feel pressured to share or engage beyond their comfort level.
5. Personal Accountability
Take responsibility for your own emotions, actions, and growth. The retreat is a space for self-inquiry and self-reflection, but the journey of transformation is your own to undertake.
6. No Alcohol, Drugs, or Smoking
To maintain a pure, focused, and safe environment, we request that participants refrain from consuming alcohol, drugs, or smoking during the retreat.
7. Care for the Space and Environment
Treat the retreat venue, its natural surroundings, and all shared spaces with care and respect. Help maintain a clean and harmonious environment.
8. Respect for Facilitators and Schedules
Honor the efforts of facilitators and organizers by respecting the retreat schedule. Punctuality helps maintain the flow of activities and supports group harmony.
9. Silence and Reflection Periods
At times, the retreat may include periods of silence or introspection. Please respect these moments, as they are vital for creating a deeper connection with oneself and the group.
10. Health and Well-Being
Inform the retreat organizers of any medical conditions or dietary needs in advance. Listen to your body, and communicate if you feel unwell or require assistance during the retreat.
11. Gratitude and Playfulness
Approach the retreat with a spirit of gratitude, curiosity, and playfulness. Allow yourself to explore, let go, and immerse in the experience.
